The story behind Pink Gin and the the Gin & Tonic

Pink gin is a distilled gin with flavours of red fruit and sometimes rose. Flavours can be added during a second distillation or at the end of the distillation process, depending on the preferences of the brand and distillery. Pink gin has recently become more popular on the market and adds a touch of fruit to cocktails.

In the 1840s, the Royal Navy drank quinine-rich tonic water as a means of fighting malaria. As the drink was very bitter, doctors would add gin to make it more palatable. And so the Gin & Tonic was born.
